Piano lessons at Community Music and Arts are different than a “music school”. Hunter Stevens, our in-house Music Specialist is committed to every learner, student, or musician to create a safe environment for growth. Hunter designed the base curriculum to be flexible and compassionate. Unlike classical training, you will not every have to “watch the clock” during sessions, or feel shame for not practicing. Hunter meets every client where they are, and expands from current skills and comfort levels.
In-Home:
King County Residents Only 30 minutes can come and go quickly, so utilizing time efficiently is crucial. 1-3 minutes are dedicated to talking with the student. Hunter wants to hear about how YOU are before how practice was. 5-7 minutes will be dedicated to warming up, discussion of practice, goals, and homework, as well as reviewing an historical/cultural materials. The next 15 minute will be structured learning time, where Hunter will lead you through the lesson material, song, or composition. The remaining time will be utilized for reviewing homework.
Virtual:
Lesson plans are the same as In-Home lessons, however we ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes early, to ensure a clean start-time. 30 minutes is a short chunk of time, and we hate seeing time spent figuring out Zoom. Please let us know if you have accessibility questions or concerns.
